I am a licensed Atlanta marriage and family counselor / therapist with a masters degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University. I have been a psychotherapist in the Atlanta area for twenty five years, working with individuals, couples and families.
I graduated from a liberal arts women’s college just outside New York City, Manhattanville College, in 1964, as a philosophy major. Before I received my masters degree from Georgia State, I taught Montessori, was a Vice Principal in an Atlanta grammar school, and had many opportunities to work closely with individuals and families.
I have taken many advanced courses in theology, mythology, and spirituality. This has only broadened and deepened my perception of our human becoming. Psychology and systems theory ground my deep commitment to helping others break free of repetitive behavior and thought patterns that narrow their capacity to live a full and satisfying life.
I wrote a column in a local newspaper, Atlanta Intown, for eight years. Articles from this period of my life are found in my blog at this website. The articles fell under the general title of Spirituality, but they dealt with such topics as relationships, life’s questions, death, hope, grandchildren, environmental concerns, and much, much more.
I have spoken to many local churches and community groups over the years, drawing from my rich background in spirituality, psychology, family dynamics and the underlying longings and struggles we humans experience on our life journey.
